Over thirty years ago Christian Science was presented to me at a time of great need. While reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of an internal condition pronounced incurable by the doctor who had attended me.

I had been confined to bed at intervals for about a year, and was not getting any better, when the doctor said that he could do no more for me and that I would be an invalid for the rest of my life. Because I had two small children at the time, this pronouncement was most disturbing, leaving me without hope. Some months later a very dear friend, who had been living in another city, came to see me unexpectedly. She had just found Christian Science, and told me of the wonderful healings taking place in this religion. She offered to have literature sent to me. I agreed to accept the literature, but it was farthest from my thought that reading something could help my sick body.
