Many times, through the years, when in trouble, I have turned to Christian Science and found comfort and healing. About a year ago an open sore appeared on one thigh. It grew larger, more ugly, more painful. There had been no outward experience, such as an accident, to account for this. Healing seemed slow, requiring a month or more, yet all the while, as I worked with statements of spiritual truth from the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy, I was not afraid. Instead, my thought was sustained by a quiet assurance that healing was certain. The particular spiritual facts I faithfully clung to were gathered from Unity of Good, where Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 20):

"Through these three statements, or misstatements, evil comes into authority:— First: The Lord created it. Second: The Lord knows it. Third: I am afraid of it.

"By a reverse process of argument evil must be dethroned:— First: God never made evil. Second: He knows it not. Third: We therefore need not fear it." This healing has had special importance for me because the suggestion had persisted that although I could help others find healing, I could not heal myself.
