Truth Corrects Misconceptions

We live in a scientific age. Physical science, which demands carefully verified proofs of every step in its search for truth, is superseding the speculative theories of philosophy and the unquestioning acceptance of theological dogmas.

In a form comprehensible to this age, Christian Science explains the truth lived and taught by Christ Jesus—the same truth that throughout the ages has brought deliverance to men from all the ills "that flesh is heir to." The understanding and application of this truth satisfies the deepest hunger of the heart and enables the student to help solve some of the problems vexing the world today.

Whoever has experienced a healing through Christian Science has caught a glimpse of the new heaven and earth envisioned by St. John (see Rev. 21:1). He feels himself enfolded in a love beyond all human affection, drawn closer to that love, blessed with capabilities and fulfillments beyond his human anticipation. As the dark clouds of fear, self-pity, and self-will are swept away from his mental horizon, he begins to see the universe as beautiful and orderly, progressively unfolding an intelligent purpose for himself and for all his fellowmen.
