I have experienced many healings in Christian Science since I began studying it in December, 1966. One healing was that of my teeth. I had teeth so carious that I had to go to the dentist every few weeks the year round to have them filled. My teeth were so soft that they would break off for no apparent reason, sometimes when I was not even moving my mouth. They were painful much of the time. This was a hereditary condition, as my whole family had teeth similar to this.

My dentist kept filling them, but he finally decided that before long there wouldn't be enough substance left to fill and so he might as well cap them. I decided not to have this done right away but to try Christian Science. In my study I learned that all true substance is spiritual. I worked with "the scientific statement of being" in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. It begins (p. 468): "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all."

I learned not only that my real substance is not matter but that man is an idea dwelling in the divine Mind, God. I discovered that my true nature is not subject to beliefs of perishability or heredity. There were many other healing truths that I took into consciousness at this time.
