Erase the Tape
[For children]
One afternoon Kay was visiting her friend. Rory had just been given a tape recorder. Several children were there, including Donnie, a preschooler. They all took turns saying something on the tape and playing it back.
When Donnie's turn came, he was tongue-tied and stumbled over what he wanted to say. When Kay got home, she was still laughing at how silly Donnie had sounded when they had played back the tape.
Mother questioned her about how the tape recorder worked. "Can the tape play back anything except what you say into it?"
