Mary Baker Eddy writes on the first page of the Preface to the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." The important question, I have found, is: Are we leaning?

On another page, she says (ibid., p. 496): "Ask yourself: Am I living the life that approaches the supreme good? Am I demonstrating the healing power of Truth and Love? If so, then the way will grow brighter 'unto the perfect day.'"

Recently I experienced a trial that called for "leaning." I awakened in the night with a very severe pain in my head. At first I did not argue with it, thinking it would go away. Well, it did not; so I sat up and began to really do some thinking. I thought of the little boy who was asked if Christian Scientists took medicine. He answered, "Yes, but they don't drink it—they think it." So I thought it was time to think some medicine.
