What Health Is

To be healthy, we must understand what health is. Christian Science demonstrates health; it reveals health as an attribute of God rather than a condition of flesh or even a humanly mental state. And man, who is really the likeness of God, or Mind, expresses health permanently. The scientific concept of health is true of every individual, and so every individual can bring it to light in its wonderful, unlimited possibilities.

It was Mary Baker Eddy who, by her discovery of Christian Science, brought perfect health within the present reach of us all. This Science insists that health is a normal state, even humanly speaking; and in absolute being, or the kingdom of heaven, it is a spiritual necessity. We can always demonstrate a fact. We can always prove that the kingdom of God is within us, as Christ Jesus declared, and that God's will for man's health is always fulfilled.

Spiritual healing puts new light on the subject of health; it shows that the importance of healing reaches far beyond any physical implications. We sometimes hear people say that Christian Science emphasizes the healing of fleshly ills too much. But when we remember the stress Jesus placed on healing physical difficulties by spiritual means and how he gave his disciples power "to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease,"  Matt. 10:1; we begin to realize that we must research the question of health with genuine zeal.
