It is high time that I expressed gratitude for Christian Science and all that it has done for me. If it were not for Christian Science, I would not be here today.
Some time ago my mother passed on in a tuberculosis sanatorium. Three or four years later my sister passed on with what was diagnosed as tuberculosis.
When I was teaching school in the state of Washington in 1950, I was required by law to take an X-ray examination. I was informed that I had tuberculosis and that my lungs showed a very serious condition of deterioration. At the time of the examination I fainted from fright. This further convinced the authorities of my desperate plight They offered me hospital care, which I refused, much to their discomfiture. I was told that I had to resign from teaching school immediately, which I did.
