Speaker: I'd like to begin by asking you what your friends and fellow students consider important in determining how well a person is going to do.?

Questioner: I think there are a number of things, some more meaningful than others. But offhand I'd say that natural ability, IQ, family background, and wealth are often used to judge how well a person is going to do.

Speaker: Those things often do seem to be ingredients in how well a person does. But, actually, there is something deeper than that.
