Singleness of Purpose
There appear to be many causes for concern in the fast-moving, troubled world of today. But haste and disturbance are in the area of human belief, not in the realm of spiritual fact. The real, spiritual universe is just as orderly, just as peaceful, and just as available now as in the time of Christ Jesus. And the truth of God and the universe, including His spiritual creation, man, is still as true.
The important thing is to maintain one's spiritual poise, to listen for the underlying rhythm of the universe set to the tempo of divine Principle, God, and to be aware of the ordered ideas of Mind.
The world would say that thought cannot be at peace amid the aggressive, conflicting claims of mortal mind, or material consciousness. And yet thought that is conscious of the divine order is not disturbed by disorder. This must have been the case when Jesus, completely oblivious to raging mortal beliefs manifested as a storm, was sleeping in a ship. He was not even aware of the fear of those around him until they sought his aid, saying, "Master, carest thou not that we perish?" Mark 4:38;
