Long ago a young man named Saul went out of the land of Benjamin to inquire of the great prophet Samuel the direction toward which he should go in order to find his father's asses which had been lost. Samuel had previously been told by the Lord that Saul would seek him out for this purpose, and the Lord had told Samuel that not only should Saul be given the information which he sought but that he should also be anointed captain over Israel.
