I should like to relate one of...
I should like to relate one of the many experiences that I have had which prove the practicality, value, and blessing of Christian Science.
One evening I felt the need to pray for a clearer understanding of God and of man, made in God's image and likeness. Our home is tucked away in a valley surrounded by sharply rising hills broken with outcrops of rock. I decided to climb to the top of a hill where I knew I would be undisturbed.
While climbing up a rocky outcrop I was idly reflecting on a news report of a carnival which had taken place in a European city. Masks of various world notabilities had been on sale to the public, and I found myself satisfied, or perhaps pleased, with the thought that a certain man's mask was at the bottom in order of popularity. At that exact moment I slipped and crashed headlong onto a rock below. I almost lost consciousness, and my forehead was cut badly.
