For thirty years I suffered from various diseases. Among these was a nervous condition which caused insomnia if I did not take medicine. Then I was introduced to Christian Science through some friends, who told me that the truth taught in Science could heal me of this disease.

My daughter took me to a practitioner, who talked to me and said: "God is the source of all good. Because God is Love, He does not make man sick; therefore disease has no power. This sense of sickness is only a lie, and you should not accept it."

I returned home; but that night I could not sleep and again took my medicine. When I told the practitioner about this the next day, she explained that I could not believe in both God and matter, or medicine.
