My grandmother first heard of...
My grandmother first heard of Christian Science in 1888 and brought the news of its healing power to the home of my parents. My mother gladly accepted it and was healed of catarrh. She became a devoted student of Christian Science, and we had many healings in our family.
In my own home too we have had many healings, including those of very severe burns and of a badly torn tongue. We were readily healed of so-called children's diseases and other sicknesses through reading Science and Health by our beloved Leader.
When our eldest son was about six years old, he fell out of a tree. He was carried into the house limp and unconscious; so I held him on my lap. I reached out to God in prayer, declaring the truths I had learned in my study of Christian Science. I realized that the boy's real life was not in matter but in God, Spirit. Soon he became conscious, climbed down, and went out to play.
