My first two healings in Christian Science...

My first two healings in Christian Science were those of a headache and of the smoking habit; these healings occurred approximately fifteen years ago. At that time I knew little or nothing about this wonderful, practical religion; but I did have a Christian Science friend, whose loving-kindness was a constant inspiration to me. One day when I seemed greatly distressed with a severe headache, my friend gently said, "Why don't you talk with a Christian Science practitioner?"

How vividly I recall that first visit to the practitioner, who quoted to me passages from the King James Version of the Bible! She explained that in her book Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, has given the world the key to unlock the treasures of the Bible.

Among the passages in the Bible that stood out to me were these: "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good" (Gen. 1:31), and, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" (Matt. 5:48).
