Ever-operative Truth

The Christian Science Reading Room holds many blessings for those who are receptive to the revelation of Christian Science. Through study of the Bible in conjunction with the writings of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and through reading other authorized literature, individuals learn that freedom from erroneous conditions is won through an understanding of God. Thus is fulfilled the Master's promise (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Mrs. Eddy indicates the ever-availability of God's healing power when she writes in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 271), "Christ's Christianity is the chain of scientific being reappearing in all ages, maintaining its obvious correspondence with the Scriptures and uniting all periods in the design of God."

In the Reading Rooms it is the happy privilege of librarians to introduce this new-old truth to many who are seeking a provable religion. The Reading Room provides an atmosphere conducive to quiet, reflective work for all those who wish to study. Many healings are recorded as taking place in Reading Rooms.
