NEW BIRTH

Conceived in Love,
Brought forth in righteousness.
This is the Father's plan.
This is the real conception
Of the only man.
Claim no inheritance
But this, and be
The heir of God's
Immortal sovereignty.
No human law intrudes
To darken God's decree:
Nor faith imposed
In false heredity.
Heirs of the great estate
Of Truth, we stand
On Horeb's height
And view the Promised Land.
No need to wonder
How, or why, or when
The mist arises
To obscure our sight;
The warmth of Love
Dissolves the clouds
Of fear,
And all is light.
