It is over thirty years since I first became interested in Christian Science, and during that time have had many wonderful healing experiences.

I was reared in a Christian home and am grateful for it, but I was never satisfied with the teachings of our church. I always refused to believe that God would send evil in order that good might come, and I could never understand why, if God already knew everything, as we had been taught, He would make an imperfect world and have to be informed as to needed changes in it. I always yearned to know more about God and where He could be found.

In November, 1914, when I was returning home to the West Coast after spending the summer with my folks in the East, I met a man on the train who had been healed of a bone disease through Christian Science. I felt reserve about questioning him, although I was greatly impressed. When I did investigate Christian Science, nearly a year later, it was through a neighbor who had been healed of gallstones. She gave me some copies of the Christian Science Sentinel, and through reading the articles in these Sentinels I was healed of peritonitis.
