In grateful appreciation for the many blessings I have received from the testimonies of healing appearing in The Christian Science Journal and the Sentinel, and with the hope that by sharing some of my experiences someone may be benefited, I humbly submit this testimony.

About nine years ago one of my front teeth became abscessed. I was at the time working in a very small town and knew no other Christian Scientist there or near by. I wrote to a practitioner and asked for help, which was most lovingly given. Although the trouble persisted for a week, I did not miss a day from my work. Then without any material means whatsoever the tooth drained, and all swelling and pain vanished. The healing was complete.

One day while I was picking some grapes, a yellow-jacket flew out and stung me on the foot. For a moment the pain was severe, but instantly I declared the truth as I started to walk back to the house. By the time I reached the house, which was about one hundred feet away, I was entirely free. There was no more pain, no swelling, and no unpleasant aftereffect. My heart was filled with gratitude for God's ever-present help.

A few years ago an unsightly wart appeared on one of my hands. At first I tried to ignore it, but when others started noticing it I realized I must do definite work about it. Very soon afterwards I read a testimony in the Sentinel of a healing of warts, and it was an inspiration to me. With the aid of the Concordance I studied "growth," realizing that the only true growth is "growth in grace." I dwelt especially on this passage from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 4): "What we most need is the prayer of fervent desire for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love, and good deeds." I declared that nothing inharmonious could attach itself to man, for nothing inharmonious could attach itself to God, who is Love, Spirit, Principle, of which man is the perfect likeness. I declared my spiritual relationship with our Father and refused to accept anything that was not an attribute of God. Every time I touched, saw, or thought about the condition I turned my thoughts to God and endeavored to see only His perfect creation. In a very short time my hand was perfectly normal again.

Pleasant and profitable employment has been obtained many times in the most unexpected manner when I faithfully relied on Christian Science to show me the way and I was willing to follow.

A few of the many other healings I have experienced through Christian Science treatment are those of headaches, constipation, heartaches, and loneliness. My desires are being purified through my understanding of this truth. The realization that God is ever with me, loving, guiding, guarding, and protecting me brings with it a peace that I had not known before.

I am so grateful to God for His tender, loving care and mercy for all; for the pure life of Jesus; for Mrs. Eddy, who gave us Christian Science, which is blessing untold numbers each day; for the loving friends and practitioners who have helped me along the way, and for the blessings of class instruction and the association meetings.—(Miss) Alice Parham, Union Springs, Alabama.
