"Blessed are the meek"
"Blessed
are the meek," the Master said;
The earth shall be their heritage.
They walk without self-will or pride,
With lowly patience by their side,
Nor write resentment on life's page.
Their gentleness and kindly smiles
Restore lost faith to burdened hearts;
And as they go their quiet ways
Beyond false fears, above false praise,
All feel the peace their hope imparts.
True meekness comprehends men's needs,
And points a path to those who stray,
Makes known the truth which frees from sin,
The kingdom of the Christ within;
And then Love's light illumes their way.
