A Christian Science period in the Columbia "Church of the Air" series was conducted from Station WEEI, Boston, on Sunday, January 18,1942, at ten o'clock (Eastern Standard Time), by Mr. Harry C. Browne. This program was presented under the auspices of the Committee on Publication of The Mother Church. The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. Massachusetts, with the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors. Miss Blanche Haskell, soloist, was assisted by Miss Gertrude R. Litchfield, at the organ.
The program opened with Hymn No. 186 in the Christian Science Hymnal. Mr. Browne then read selections from the Bible as follows: Isaiah 54:1–3; John 17:1–3. 20–23; Acts 17:22–31; Ephesians 3:8, 9, 17–19; 4:13. And from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: 596:3–6; 465:9–14 God; 331:11–25; 336:23; 255:11–17; 258:1–18; 256:16–18, 24–27; 140:7–12; 265:5–15. Then Hymn No. 218 in the Christian Science Hymnal was sung, after which Mr. Browne read an address substantially as follows:
