I have countless reasons for being grateful for Christian Science

I have countless reasons for being grateful for Christian Science. I had lost faith in God and religion, feeling it was all false. Our family was sick most of the time. All I earned was paid out for medicine and doctors' bills. We were in debt, and there seemed to be no end to our trouble.

While working as conductor on an interurban railway, I saw a woman reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and I told her I was interested in the book, but understood it was based on the teachings of the Bible. She said it was; and I said, "I cannot believe in it." She asked me to read the first chapter of Genesis and the first three verses of the second chapter, also the ninety-first Psalm. So when I got home, I read these passages. The next day I was healed of swearing, and the whole world seemed to have changed; it had become a new world to me, filled with good, beauty, and loveliness.

Our daughter, when about five years of age, broke both bones in her forearm. We took her to a practitioner, and the arm was healed and straight by the sixth day after the break. About three months later an X-ray picture was taken of the arm, to satisfy a member of the family. The X ray showed that the bones had been perfectly set.
