Too long has my gratitude in written form been withheld,...
Too long has my gratitude in written form been withheld, deep gratitude for all the blessings that have been mine through the study and application of Christian Science.
I took up the study of this Science when I was a young girl because of my mother's healing of invalidism of many years' standing. I remember I had no doubts as to the correctness of Christian Science, yet I did not seek church membership for a number of years after her acceptance of it. However, some six years after being freed from a very trying nervous breakdown, I became a member of a branch church in the Middle West, and shortly after that step, I joined The Mother Church.
The intervening years have been ones of struggle and growth; of temporary defeat, and ultimate victory. Twice I have met and have finally overcome recurrences of the nervous condition. I have had to rise above sorrow in the passing on of my mother, and the great loneliness that seemed to result when I was left without close family ties.
