I experienced a healing in Christian Science through the help of a kind and charitable practitioner, while I was serving in the Marine Corps. On account of this sudden cure, which seemed miraculous to me, I purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and commenced to study this book in connection with the Bible, in an effort to discover how I was healed. In learning that God is "Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence," as Mrs. Eddy has written on page 587 of this textbook, and from a knowledge gained by study of how to apply this understanding of God, divine Mind, I have since been able to help not only myself, but others also, to overcome the false claims of the carnal mind. Through these experiences I have surely learned to love and know the Bible as never before.

Among a few of the many diseases and discords that have been healed through the understanding of God as infinite Mind, are indigestion, kidney trouble, hemorrhoids, varicocele, diseased tonsils; and even the desire for tobacco and coffee has vanished. For all these healings I am truly grateful; but I am most thankful for the demonstrable knowledge of God as Love, given to us through the most wonderful discovery of this age—Christian Science.
