It is with the deepest gratitude that I desire to relate my experience of the healing power of Christian Science. A life of struggle and suffering, both physical and mental, had taught me to look higher than the world for the truth which saves, but I had not yet found the only efficacious help when, through an accident which befell my little daughter, I became enlightened through asking for Christian Science treatment.
My little girl was playing near the house when our dog, a large animal of the St. Bernard type, suddenly leaped on her and bit her arm, which he refused to let go. Fortunately her brother, who heard her cries, ran no her and succeeded in releasing her. When I dressed the wounds I noticed that the arm was broken and some one present insisted that I should take the child to a doctor. Not wishing to oppose this, since none of the people present knew of Christian Science, I acquiesced and at the same time asked a friend to telephone to a practitioner, but not being able to find her number I wrote her the same evening. The next day the child was taken with fever and in the evening she had a fit. Her arm caused her great pain and she even said she could feel it was loose. At the end of two or three hours the pain ceased completely, the fever disappeared, and from that moment the child had no more suffering. The wounds, of which there were quite a number, closed up, there was no inflammation, no suppuration, and when the doctor was about to set the arm he was much surprised to find it in its place, and healing fast.
After having had such a great proof of divine power I am determined to hold to the light of Truth and to follow it in order to be led daily to a better and more complete understanding, and I constantly pray to be able to follow the precepts taught by Christ Jesus.—(Mrs.) Wilma Paccaud, Les Grange de Dompierre, Switzerland.
