There
are many who look forward to a future life which they believe will bring them more happiness than they find in the present.
There
is, probably, no word about which more nonsense is talked, unless it be love, than the word sacrifice.
The
statement that Mind is the only place that really is may seem strange to some who are not familiar with the reasoning of Christian Science; but the fact itself is being recognized by many, including those who have been considering the theory of relativity.
I wish to express through the Sentinel my sincere appreciation of the unfailing power of Truth, Life, and Love, as interpreted through "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
It is with the deepest gratitude that I desire to relate my experience of the healing power of Christian Science.
It is with the deepest sense of joy and gratitude that I speak of an experience we had some time ago which has been a constant reminder that we are in reality the children of Truth, made in the image of the Father, who is Spirit and not matter.
Having received many blessings from reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and other writings by her hand; also for the exaltation received through the many other channels: the Monitor, Journal and Sentinel; the lectures, and the church services, The Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lessons, which she founded for the benefit of mankind; after partaking of these blessings and having heard the still, small voice of truth commanding me to stretch forth my hand and be whole, I write this testimony.
One evening some time ago I was lifting a saucepan of boiling water off a gas plate, and it upset over my left hand which became stiff.
I wish to give my testimony of the many blessings that have come to me through the study of Christian Science.
With gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me I write my testimony for publication.
I have been prompted many times, while reading the testimonies in the Sentinel of healings and help received through Christian Science, to write an expression of gratitude for benefits I have received.
It required three months of persuasion on the part of a dear friend before I would consent to have anything to do with Christian Science; but in a very dark hour the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was put into my hands and brought the light which has never failed to guide and guard me throughout many years.
I greatly desire to testify to the great good that has come to me through the study of Christian Science.
