Funds of The Mother Church
"On behalf of our little society, a month old, we are sending ten dollars to the War Relief fund. It was decided that the first collection every month should be set aside for funds of The Mother Church,—the War Relief, Real Estate, and The Christian Science Benevolent Association funds,—the collections to be held until twenty dollars accumulates, then forwarded to you. We are earnest workers for Truth and Love and wish to do our bit in helping."
"With a heart full of gratitude I am inclosing three dollars to be used for the benefit of the War Relief, Real Estate, or The Christian Science Benevolent Association funds, to be divided or given to one, to further God's work where wisdom decrees. It is only a small contribution, but for a long time I have desired to give my bit to these activities for good, and have waited for the time when the amount would be larger, but after careful thought of our Leader's words on page 82 of Science and Health, 'It is wise earnestly to consider whether it is the human mind or the divine Mind which is influencing one,' I decided to be divinely governed and send my contribution to-day, and not to be governed by the mortal mind belief of its smaliness. I am thankful for the privilege of adding my bit in this great work."
"I am inclosing herewith check for fifty-five hundred dollars as a second contribution toward our pledge of twenty-five thousand dollars for The Christian Science Benevolent Association fund and the Real Estate fund. Of this amount five thousand dollars comes from the church and five hundred dollars from the Sunday school. In working for this demonstration we are finding a wonderful blessing in the larger vision of Christian Science which it is bringing to us, and thus we have a twofold reason for gratitude, for the privilege of both giving and receiving."
