Four years ago, when first told of the healing power of Christian Science, I was suffering from a severe attack of bronchitis. As I was not getting any better under materia medica I decided at once to try this Science, and was very quickly healed by reading Science and Health. This encouraged me to apply the same truth for an illness from which I had suffered for about seven years, and which had been diagnosed by different physicians and specialists who treated me, as nervous prostration, trouble, heart trouble, and locomotor ataxia. At one time I was only able to walk across the street and back. Not having received any permanent benefit from materia medica, I was only too glad to turn to Christian Science for help. While the healing was slow, the disease has been entirely overcome, also chronic sore throat, and headache from which I suffered nearly every day. All this has been done through Christian Science alone, as I have never once used any material remedy since the day I was first told of this truth. I am very thankful, not only for the physical healing but for the spiritual uplifting also. I am deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy for this understanding of Christ, Truth, that heals us spiritually as well as physically.
H.L. Burgess, Detroit, Mich.
My mother suffered with dropsy of the heart for many years, and was told by several prominent physicians in different cities that she could live but a short time. She was, however, healed in Christian Science, inside of a month, when sixty-eight years of age, and was able to attend to her household duties. This was in 1894. Since that time, until about two years ago, she has not been obliged to ask for help, having been able through her study of the Bible and Science and Health to keep well, and to help others many times.
