It is about two years since I first heard of Christian Science, and I desire to express my gratitude for what it has done for me. Before coming into Science I thought that I could not live without medicine, as I suffered very much from indigestion. About two months ago, while at work, I turned very ill and had to go home, and for three days I scarcely knew what was going on around me. I was very sick, and could take nothing, not even a drink of water. I was also seized with inflammation of the lungs, a trouble which I have had twice before; it seemed as if every part of my body was out of order, I felt so bad. I tried to realize truth to the best of my understanding for the first four days, but thought I would require help, so I asked my wife to write to Edinburgh, which is about eighteen miles from my home, for a practitioner. After my first treatment all sense of fear left me, and by the eighth day I was able to go out into the garden for a short time, and in three weeks I was back at my work, looking healthier and feeling better than ever I did, much to the astonishment of all my friends. With gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and to my faithful practitioner, I send this, trusting that my experience may help others to believe and realize that "divine Love alone governs man" (Manual of Mother Church, p. 56).
