Among the Churches
On Sunday, May 4, 1902, First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Rochester, N. Y., held its opening services in its new church, corner of Alexander and Cobb Streets.
In addition to the Lesson-Sermon for the day addresses were made by Miss Sarah A. Pine, First Reader; Mr. B. C. Harned, Second Reader, and Rev. Arthur R. Vosburgh, member of Board of Lectureship.
The service was repeated in the afternoon and evening, the house being filled at every service. In the evening the sermon was omitted and letters of congratulation and good cheer from many parts of the United States and Canada were read. The day was a joyous celebration of our transition from "tent to tabernacle."
