Mutual Helpfulness

Interesting Address by Justice P. E. Tillinghast.

The following address was delivered in the Fourth Baptist Church, Providence, R. I., Sunday evening, March 17, 1901, by Justice P. E. Tillinghast, who for twenty years has occupied a seat on the bench of the Supreme Court of Rhode Island. Many of our readers will recall that it was this court which decided a most important question affecting Christian Science practice in the case of the State v. Myhold, which went before that court on appeal.

The subject of the address is so pertinent that we regret the necessity of abridging it somewhat in adjusting it to our space limitations, but it has been our endeavor to do this without marring the continuity of thought or impairing the force of its expression.
