God Ever-present and Omnipotent
I had been struggling for several weeks with the grip, and had seemed to master it when an alarming symptom of heart failure made its appearance. I can truly say: "Though I passed through the valley of the shadow, God was with me," and it was demonstrated that the heart did not govern man's life, but that life was God ever-present and omnipotent.
Being in a boarding house at the time, where there was only one other person who believed in Christian Science, there was a great clamor for a doctor, as they thought I was dying; but I said, "No, I want Christian Science." To those around me there would have been no hope, even from medical treatment, much less Christian Science.
A Christian Scientist came immediately, and I began to revive, continuing steadily to improve until I was a well woman once more.
