Effects of Accident quickly Overcome
About the first of the year my wife and I and a friend went to call on some friends. In walking from the car line to our friends' house, my wife mistook a deep ditch for another path and stepped into it, spraining one of her ankles severely. We assisted her to our friends' house, where we remained about two hours. Returning home that evening about ten o'clock, I wanted to call for a Christian Science practitioner, but my wife dissuaded me. She slept little and suffered much pain during the night. In the morning she could not put her foot on the floor, so intense was the pain. The accident happened Thursday evening. Friday morning about eight o'clock I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner, who informed me he would take up the case. At noon I returned home and found my wife walking around the house leaning lightly on a cane. She informed me that about twenty minutes after I left home (this would make it but a very few minutes after the absent treatment was given) all pain left her, that she walked to the door with a lady friend who called to see her, and found no inconvenience from so doing.
The Sunday following we walked to Sunday service and back, a distance of over a mile, and in the afternoon she walked out again without any appearance of lameness and with no inconvenience or bad effects. In a very short time all swelling disappeared and the ankle looked like the other. We are very thankful for this beautiful proof of the power of Truth.—Geo. Tolmie, Ogden, Utah.
