Among the Churches

The recently organized First Church of Christ, Scientist, of North Adams, Mass., held its first service as a chartered church, Sunday, August 27, in its new quarters. There was an attendance of about one hundred and seventyfive.

The Lockport, N. Y., Second Church of Christ, Scientist, has recently purchased and paid for a building site, which is regarded as the most desirable location in the city for a church. At present there is a dwelling-house on the property which has been converted into headquarters for local and visiting Scientists, where there are pleasant reading rooms furnished with all genuine Christian Science literature.A correction was made in the October 5, 1899 Sentinel: "We are informed that the building site in Lockport, N. Y., was purchased by the Second Church of Christ, Scientist, instead of the First Church, as stated in the Sentinel of September 21, 1899."

The Rockland, Mass., First Church of Christ, Scientist, completed its organization last June, starting with twenty charter members. From twenty-five to thirty people attend the Sunday services.
