"Thy will be done"

WHEN clouds of sense obscure the viewAnd seem to hide the narrow way,What joy it is to humbly pray,Father, what wouldst Thou have me do?

This Is the Hour

When Jacob faced the angel visitant,He prayed and knew that good alone had power; And to this presence said in covenant,"I will not let thee go.

Patience

If we would calm the eager restlessness,The fretful striving of the human mind,We need a self-surrender more complete,A wisdom more unerring: we must learnThat high resolve persistently maintainedAlone can bring the perfect poise we seek.

He Healed Them All

Of all the pictures on the sacred page,Painted in words whose colors never pall,Replete with love to youth and hoary age,To me the sweetest is, he healed them all.

Security

Lo! through the midst of them he passed,Unseen and free!Naught was there that a carnal mindCould touch or see.

"Stretch forth thine hand"

Joyfully within the temple's portalsThe maimed man answered to the Lord's command,Never doubting him whose love had bid him,"Stretch forth thine hand.

If God Is All

If God is All, whence comes this veil of darkness;Whence come this terror and this starless night?

Security

Although the path seems dark, the way obscure,And great clouds stoop above me, threatening,I need not fear these phantoms; safe and sureI can walk onward, never wavering.

God Walks with Me

How good it is to knowGod walks with me.

Love

O Love divine, all human love transcending,Unveil our eyes, that we may clearly seeHow omnipresent Love—like streams unending—Forever flows to bless humanity.

A Daily Prayer
