Driven to the deep things of life
I didn’t go to the beach this summer,
but God gave me a sunny-heartedness
to warm my smiles to friends and foes.
Why? Because Life’s unlimited goodness
spreads its canopy over all.
I didn’t breathe the breezy mountain air this summer,
but I felt the freshness of Soul’s ideas.
Why? Because I quieted my goings, to and fro,
with the knowledge of Mind’s oneness
and with Christ’s shepherding law.
I didn’t have much companionship this summer,
but I had a great friend forever: divine Love,
whose presence is perceived through
resolute attachment
to Spirit’s healing reality.
Indeed, the heavenly law of harmony
is here
