Don't just get married—give marriage, too!

Summer is the big season for weddings. And having been married myself (ours was an August wedding), I know the joys marriage offers. I’ve also learned some lessons on the way.

Do you know what I found out about marriage? An even greater joy than “getting” married is “giving” marriage. One of the very best parts of marriage, I think, is that because I loved my husband, Bill, so very much, I wanted to continue to grow in grace, so that I could forever be the wife he loved and cherished. Even though he passed away many years ago, I still rejoice in the opportunities I had to discover grace within myself and to experience God’s grace.

I’d learned about grace from reading the Bible, which counsels, “For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace.”
