Another Monday where everything goes wrong? Not this time!

It had been one of those hectic mornings when the clock hands seemed to be moving at double time. Everything conspired against me—everything took more time than usual. My son’s jeans were still damp when I removed them from the dryer. My daughter needed me to write a check for school. How could I possibly be so late?

At this rate I would barely get to school on time. My fifth graders would rush into the room in a boisterous cacophony of disorder, and our day would spiral down from there. I backed the car out of the garage, thinking I was in for one of those maddening Mondays when everything goes wrong.

That’s when I noticed the doves under the window. There were two of them, serenely searching for their morning meal. I marveled at the peacefulness of the scene. I had never seen doves so close to the house before.
