Shedding a spiritual light on immigration

Eberhard Lasch, C.S.B.

Immigration is going on everywhere. We live on a planet that moves, in an environment where everything moves—the wind, the water, the people. But the great question is: Who is controlling all this? And how can we all live and work together in harmony?

In this thoughtful chat, Eberhard Lasch, who is himself an immigrant, delivers a spiritual response to global questions about immigration, borders, and cultural differences. Christian Science provides a means of prayer that is scientific, he says. It helps us to recognize all people as children of God and to find spiritual answers to concerns about immigration even when they seem difficult to resolve.

Eberhard points out that we're living and moving in the concept of harmony, rather than in danger, lack, or injustice. By learning to travel more inwardly—examining our thoughts and bringing them in line with God—we find the peace we seek.
