Christ Jesus

Dear name—the Christ!Expression of that Love divineWhich is infinity made manifest to usThrough him we love to callOur Master, Saviour, Lord,Jesus, the Christ, th' anointed,And appointed to show forth Love's healing power.

Grace

How can we know the truth of grace divine,Unless we know a love so deep, so true,That, free from self and all demands, all signOf condemnation, we can look clear throughThe outward seeming to the image pure,Can let our love shine round it like the light,With tenderness, compassion, feeling sureThat God's reflection must be ever bright?

Receptivity

The billows of all human hopeNow rise, now fall,—Symbols unsteady of a lifeApart from Truth,—E'en as a ship at sea doth ride,Its moorings loosed.

God's Presence

I loved the night, for then it seemedThat I was nearer Thee, O Father.

The "little book open"

"And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: and he had in his hand a little book open.

"What hast thou in the house?"

Long had I sought,Far-reaching was my quest;I longed to entertain but one,That one a hallowed guest.

Joint-Heirs

Humbly searching, this I find:Life and Truth and Love combined,Substance is for all mankind—Man's inheritance!

There is No Death

Eternal Life forever is;Death but a mortal dream.

God's Day

This day doth omnipresent LoveUnfold all good; The glow of never changing TruthEnlightens thought;Discernment of unending LifeIllumes the tomb.
