Poise

Serenely firm, thy task attend;Citadel be!Let pettiness its rancor spend; To higher thought do thou ascend,Thus constantly;By calm repose, not stress, not plight,Let others seeHow rest in Mind, not human might,Thy upward reach into the lightDoth profit thee.

The Prayer of Faith

Thou hearest me always—this the prayer of faith,Once glimpsed, used, understood by mortal man,Doth raise him up until in thought he seesBut God's creation, knows reality,And lives and moves reflecting Life and Love.

"The Lord is my shepherd"

Within Thy care, O Love, I shall not want—Not want the things of earth, with envy rife;I shall not long, where runs the ceaseless crowd,To join them in the laughter and the strife;I shall be calm and happy and content,Nor feel the lust of eye or pride of life.

Transfiguration

Behold the world newborn, newborn of Spirit! In radiant flowers, and dew-drenched scented air,

Onward

I Do not ask to see the journey's way,But with a faith transcending sight would knowThat Thou, my God, wilt lead from day to dayBy chosen paths, prepared for me to go.

Purified

A gentle shower of cooling rainFell on my little world to-day;And in its quiet, tender wayHas washed away the dust and stain.

My Prayer

May I be pure in heart—This, Father, is my prayer.

The Children

Lo ! the children, joyous children,Happy, buoyant, sweet, and free!Hearts receptive to his teaching:Jesus said, Bring them to me.

Thought

One healing thought,Which meets the moment's need,Is greater farThan any earthly creed.
