"Kings and priests"

To know dominion is to be a kingWithin the realm of Mind that knows no boundOf time or place, of person or of thing;Where happiness and health and hope are foundIn freedom from the Adam-dream,In consciousness of good supreme.

LOST AND FOUND

I saw that in order to find my life, I had to first lose it—that is, lose all sense of life as material.

What We Most Need

WHAT we most need is humbleness,And willingness to wait—The patience of the man who layBeside the temple gate.

"Love is our refuge"*

THE day is done, in Thy dear arms we restSecure, O Father-God, from every fear; With grateful hearts for all thy love has blessed,We know Thee ever present, always near.

Heaven Within

I HEARD an inward voice,It spoke so soft and clear; And when I asked where Love might be,It gently whispered, Here!

The Impersonal Visit

Love came todayAnd brought me inspiration,And lifted meFrom sorrow and from pain.

Promise

Since this great world, so wide in beauty spreading,Is but a semblance of the truth sublime,And the rich, kindly earth—on which we're treading—Sounds but false echoings of space and time;Since lights and shadows of the changing oceanAre borrowed splendors, and the far pale star—Fixed and remote from all our brief emotion—Whispers the finitude of what they are;Well may we strive, with unabating wonder,To glimpse the vision of eternity,Glories undreamed grow greater as we ponder,Spirit supreme, immortal harmony;False joy and sorrows—matter's lure and terrors—Scripture and Science unmask, as unreal errors!

The Blessing

I went upon the highway yesteryear,And there met one whose very heart was soreWith weariness.

God's Ever-Presence

What if the lightning flashes,Thunder roars, and all the terrors of the nightCry out aloud?

Dedication

To Thee, O God, I humbly pray,And seek Thy will to know;Lead me in pastures green today,And let me find the heavenly way,And in Thy likeness grow.

No Night There

We saw dark error's mists descendAnd hide our friends from mortal sight.
