patient obedience to a patient God, let us labor to dissolve with the universal solvent of Love the adamant of error,—self-will, self-justification, and self-love,—which wars against spirituality and is the law of sin and death.
The
reward which James foresaw for those who resist temptation was both sure and incomparably precious: "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
JESUS
states positively, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free;" and he also declared, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Fidelity
to duty and faithfulness to all obligations are factors of success in all our undertakings, for it is only through fidelity to duty and faithfulness to the obligations which devolve upon us as seekers after Truth that we gain spiritual enlightenment, the goal we so greatly desire.
