night, as I glanced from my window, my attention was attracted by a bright star, shining so clearly from out the surrounding darkness, that I stopped to take a longer look at it; and as I gazed, I thought how much more beautiful every object in the universe becomes to us after we begin to understand spiritual reality, than when we believed them to be material.
Christian Science
has been revealed in this age to carry on to its completion the work begun by Christ Jesus; namely, the redemption of mankind from their belief in evil, not alone through faith in the great Teacher, but through their own understanding and demonstration of the Christ-truth.
While not counted among the disciples of Christian Science, we would not be slow to recognize and admire the earnestness, devotion, and Christian spirit of its people.
It
is recorded in the 15th chapter of Matthew's Gospel, that Jesus once said, "Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
In assuming that all cause and effect are mental, Christian Scientists run no serious risks and encounter no invulnerable obstacles, since they reason logically to this end from the premise that God is the only cause and creator, and they understand Him to be the divine Mind, or, as the Scriptures say, "Spirit," "All in all.
