In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

Our critic writes, "The Christian Scientist says that it is not necessary to know the origin of disease in order to cure it.
Our brother's sermon, while setting forth much that is true, befogs one fundamental fact and rule of procedure which should never be lost sight of, and that is the fact that Christ Jesus never employed drugs in healing, never employed anybody to make any diagnosis of diseases from a material standpoint, and never commanded his disciples to employ drugs or to have such diagnosis made, but he did command them to rely wholly on their faith, their knowledge of God.
Christian Science, or the Science of Christianity, is the knowledge of the Principle or law by which Christ Jesus demonstrated his system of doctrines and precepts.
In your last issue a clerical critic gives Christian Science a rebuff.
All Christian denominations have their commentaries and writings which explain the Scriptures.
The teachings of Christ Jesus, as emphasized in Christian Science, are calling with clarion voices to awake the world from the lethargy of pride, prejudice, poverty, and pain, and from all that tends to rupture the interests of humanity, and these teachings will ultimately and wisely unite all nations and creeds in one great world-wide brotherhood, under the government of divine Love and harmony.

CAUSE AND EFFECT

As the relation of God to man and the universe unfolds to us through our understanding of the Bible truths in the light which Christian Science throws upon them, and through our proving of these truths, we realize more and more the presence and activity of an all-pervading, resistless law which enters into the smallest details of daily experience.
One evening, as I was sitting in the late twilight trying to realize the nothingness of certain discordant conditions, my room was suddenly illumined with a flood of beautiful rosy light.

THE LABORERS

Every student of Christian Science rejoices in the fact that its illuminating teaching sheds a new light upon many passages of the Bible, revealing unsuspected beauties and deep truths, and this is perhaps especially noticeable with regard to the parables of our Lord.

A DEMAND OF THIS AGE

This is an age in which, despite the multiplication of intricate inventions and bewildering social problems, there is a greater demand than ever before for simplicity of thought and its natural consequent, the simple statement of thought.

BELIEF VERSUS FACT

Somewhere in the United States there is said to be a settlement of people who hold to the belief that the earth is flat; and because of their refusal to send their children to the public schools, where they would be taught from geography the opposite fact concerning the earth, they are said to have been fined and otherwise punished by the authorities.
