To a Christian Scientist that cheerful greeting, "Happy New Year," which it is customary to exchange on the first day of each year, is more than mere words.

May I have a little space in your "Letter Box" to correct a misconception of Christian Science given a few days ago in this same department by a contributor?

"The accepted time"

When we are asked to render some service to another, perhaps to go on an errand or to perform some little duty in the household, how frequently there seems to arise a disinclination to do the thing immediately! Something seems to whisper that half an hour or an hour hence, or perhaps even tomorrow, would do just as well, and that it would be much more easily done if we could put it off a little while.

As a Little Child

Jesus told his disciples that, if they would enter the kingdom of God, they must become childlike.

"Follow me"

Jesus' words, "Follow me," spoken to Simon Peter and Andrew, and his similar call to James and John, strengthened their awakening recognition of the Christ, Truth, which he reflected; and they immediately gave up their business as fishermen and followed him.
