Christian Science is, as its title indicates, the Science of Christianity, and it is both Christian and scientific,—Christian, because it accepts and emphasizes the teachings of Jesus Christ, and scientific because it is "an orderly arrangement of ascertained truths" regarding the Christian religion and with reference to God, to man, and to the universe.

In the very fair notice of Mr.

"GOD IS LOVE."

The beginner in Christian Science is always deeply impressed by the new sense which he has gained of the apostle's declaration that "God is love;" and even though he does not at once grasp its full import, there is to the one bowed down by trouble great comfort and assurance in these few and simple words.

UNITY WITH THE READERS

In the book of Isaiah there appears a prophecy of the mission and message of the Readers in the Christian Science churches, and of the Scriptural selections, the Lesson-Sermon, and the hymns of devout meditation and scientific declaration, which unite to voice that glorious message to mankind: "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" This proclamation of the divine supremacy, or "the allness of Soul, Spirit, and the nothingness of matter".
In humble gratitude for a new understanding of God as only good, and for many personal healings and other blessings, I add this statement of what even a slight understanding of Christian Science has accomplished, in the hope that it may help to establish the reign of peace and harmony in some other home.

THE SPIRIT OF GIVING

Christian Scientists have been so bountifully blessed, physically, mentally, morally, and spiritually, that their gratitude finds spontaneous expression in giving, and, since gratitude is an enduring virtue, their giving does not cease.
