Notwithstanding the statement of the critic quoted in your column, Christian Science does not in any sense deny "the authority of Jesus Christ," as even a cursory examination of its literature would readily disclose.
In a recent number of "Health Talks" I included a letter from a girl who claimed to be in need of a surgical operation but who alleged that she was being prevented by her father from having the operation because he was a Christian Scientist.

Permit me to say through your columns, in reply to a statement made in a local pulpit concerning Christian Science, that Christian Science is most distinctly not "superstition.
The report of the Boy Scouts' first day in camp stated that several patients were treated in the Red Cross hospital "by a combination of Christian Science and horse liniment.
In the Messenger is printed a sermon called "The Signs of Christ's Coming," in which the minister takes occasion to say some unkind and untruthful things about Christian Science.
In reporting a recent meeting of the Young Men's Literary Club, the Tribune said that a doctor who was resent made some startling statements regarding the physical condition of pupils in the Cheyenne schools and followed them up by saying that the "condition could be reduced to a minimum by a proper policy of medical inspection and treatment, beginning in the early grades.
From the tone of a recent editorial it would appear that its writer is at a loss to understand how a Christian Scientist is able to hold fast to the faith or understanding that is in him, even to the point of facing the "last enemy.
The canard against Christian Science, which one of your correspondents repeats, has been rehashed with variations for a decade or more and frequently exposed.
