Rachel was eagerly awaiting the day to arrive, the day she could visit the summer school her younger sister Ruth was attending.

Driving from my home to the city one morning, I found myself in deep thought over the plight of a close friend.
The Psalmist was rejoicing in the power of God to still the noisy waters, the confused, senseless clamor of the carnal, or mortal, mind, when he sang, "The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
How often we have sighed at a seeming lack of progress or been tempted to believe that some adverse circumstance had no right to appear in our experience! But if we have been trying sincerely to do the right thing, have we not invariably emerged from the seemingly adverse experience with a renewed awareness that, as Paul expressed it, "All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose"?
