'ON EAGLE'S WINGS'

Ever since childhood, a hymn has accompanied me that expresses so much of God's comforting love and of man's joy and praise for God:

Praise we the Lord, who our
footsteps still
holdeth from sliding;
Daily He campeth about us [carries
you on eagle's wings],
protecting and guiding;
E'en while we sleep
Watch doth He tenderly keep;
Ever new mercies providing.
